I know this isn't exactly high brow, but with all the hype about 'the sound of music' casting of Maria, I haven't seen anywhere who the male lead is. Does anyone know? Ta.

This won't help because I can't remember his name. However, I do know he is an established actor - saw them doing a photoshoot on the entertainment news. Think it may be Simon someone (sorry to be so crap)

Just seen in news that Simon Shepherd has left the production with only NINE days till opening. Eek. have to say that I couldn't see him as the captain - too young and floppy.

Yup the understudy is taking over for the next few weeks (presumably the previews) before Alexander Hanson (who is apparently the husband of Samantha Bond) is ready to take it on.
