I have to say that the best EVER Last Night Speech was the Model of a Modern Music Festival One that Sir Andrew Davies gave.

I remember the 9/11 last night. Never again in my life do I expect to hear Barber Adagio played like that (and I have heard lots of performances of it in my time)

We live too far away to ever realistically go to the proms apart from perhaps one concert. I read about your Beethoven 9 fiasco (but to be honest the Simon Rattle performances of that has spoilt it for me, no one else takes that last few bars quite so frantic. I hate it when they suddenly slow down for the last Freude schone goterfunken.)

Dh is just waiting for his break. His teacher (very well respected and the teacher of some very big names in the classical world) says he is capable and is more capable than some on the circuit but it is just a case of breaking through.
