I didn't think so...was supposed to be really good...watched it on sky, was disappointed...odd, unresolved characters (what IS the strange dark sausage-shaped spirity thing that eats stuff???.

I enjoyed it, but I haven't felt the urge to watch it again. I think some of it went over my head because it's based on Japanese legends, so I think there is an assumption that the viewer has more background knowledge than I did.

nutcracker · 09/07/2006 18:46

We have watched it a few times mainly because we have had it on dvd for yonks now so it gets an airing every now and again.

I liked it and the kids enjoy it too.

JessaJam · 09/07/2006 18:46

Bran, that is exactly what I thought the problem was...I felt like i was "missing something" in the story ( I suppose it's like a european cartoon making an oblique reference to the pied piper or something...may not cross-cultures)

Reginald · 09/07/2006 18:48

My kids like it, but I couldn't be doing with it at all: just very, very odd

mammaduck · 09/07/2006 19:34

Yes, it's gorgeous. Really bizarre but excellent.

jennifersofia · 09/07/2006 19:42

I really liked it - kids haven't seen it yet.

zippitippitoes · 09/07/2006 19:55

oddness wil probably appeal to me!
