Who is Dominic Kirwan?

I never heard of him, and there are adverts in today's papers for a 40 city tour in the UK starting late summer, and a week of dates in Benidorm in November.

Who is he, and what sort of music does he perform?

Looks as if I'm not the only person who has never heard of him.....

just googled him - looks like he's an Irish Daniel O'Donnell type crooner. Just the sort of thing my MIL would love!

Thanks lahdeedah. I think of myself as fairly media/music savvy, and it's a new name for me. I'm amazed that someone so obscure (to the general public) has enough of a following to mount a tour of that length. He obviously has a devoted following that isn't necessarily dependent on media exposure.

yes I bet all the old dears love him! He must have built up a big following doing the club circuit. My MIL goes to Benidorm once or twice a year and goes out dancing every night at the Irish clubs. She knows how to party - bless her!

Yeah he's a bit of a Daniel O Donnell type. He has got one song though that I love.. erm can't think of the name of it.. it goes "Buy her a rose, open the door for her.... nah I can't remember it
