Has anyone seen this? My 14 year old DD wants to go. Is it appropriate? She is quite experienced when it comes to theatre- she goes to theatre school, has seen lots of shows with adult content - Sweet Charity, Les Mis, Sweeney Todd etc...but this one seems a bit more edgy....

Picturesinthefirelight · 10/03/2013 17:00

I realise I've been a bit obtuse!

There is a lot of parody in Mormon. We play spot the rip off. There's a tip off Wicked sing etc and a fab Hakuna rip off where the Afrucsn phrase basically means F@@@ You

spudmasher · 10/03/2013 17:10

She will love it then. Thanks!!

It is a bit strong.

spudmasher · 10/03/2013 18:59

Yes. She coped with Billy Elliott age 9 to 10 so she is ahead of years.........I told her it was strong. Her reply was.... " It's theatre mum. Not real life. "

My year 6 dd wants to see Priscilla!

spudmasher · 10/03/2013 19:50

It's on tour isn't it! There is a 6/7 year old boy in it - Benji. Fab show. Take her. Very erm...colourful!

I've seen it in London and on tour. Ds wants to audition for Benji lol. He has mostly been aged 8-9 but playing down.

The tour is less in your face than it was in London. Oliver Thirntin played it very catty and emphasising the gay sexual innuendos. The bloke in tour is a bit younger in outlook if you know what I jean

From the London one I would have said no wAy.

Dh still says no. He's more conservative in what she sees than me. He won't even let her see some of his students perform (he teaches at vocational college)

Have you seen this?
Very informative.

I'm on that site.

Ds although probably more talented naturally than dd will not stick at classes and has a tendency to go to pieces under pressure - hence he wouldn't be encouraged by us to actually audition.

They haven't announced the auditions for our locsl venue yet.

Book of Mormon is very good! Grin
My 14 yr old lad doesn't want to see it, he's heard some of the songs and thinks it's very funny, but some of the subject matter is very adult!
My friends 14 yr old however has seen it and loved it.

Good luck getting tickets Wink
