HF do you like the Verdi Requiem? Had first rehearsal last night and had forgotten how fab it is - almost wish I was singing instead of clarinetting

Poulenc Gloria is fabulous. Really beautiful. I sang it years ago and keep trying to persuade our musical director to sing it but apparently it is Too Hard .

I don't think it's too hard HC - it just sounds a bit harder as it's more challenging-sounding than more standard fare, if that makes sense. hassle the MD, you know it makes sense

well I can sing it so it can't be that hard
we sang some Vaughan Williams (Dona Nobic Pacem) and I think that was harder

Wasn't in the choir in the 3rd year, so wouldn't have sung it. Am confused now!!!!

It's fab though - love it. The choir I'm playing with on Sat are apparently 'struggling' with it, so the conductor has put it first on the programme to get it out of the way!!!

The concert also involves Faure's Requiem (which I love as well!!), but alas no oboes in that one!!!!

Every time I play with a choir, I always end up wishing I was singing - haven't sung in a choir for about 10 years now, and do miss it!!!!
