Yes, they are very poignant. His 'dead dad' is very moving. Have you heard of \link{http://www.nationalgalleries.org/collections/artist_search.php?objectId=241\John De Andrea?}

I saw Duane Hanson's sculptures at the Saatchi Gallery and they are so lifelike I actually felt uneasy getting too close to them, as though they were going to say "Hey! Too close, lady!" And Ron Mueck's mother and child sculpture is just incredible, so moving.
