Mumsnet jury: coughing child to the theatre ... what do you think?

We have tickets for a matinee production this afternoon - all 4 of us, i.e. inc. 2 adults.

DS2 has been coughing quite a lot.

This is quite a 'high-brow' children's production: Royal Opera House on tour: Will Tuckett's Pinocchio.

Do we:
a) One of us stay at home with ds2
b) Take ds2 but arrange for one of us to sit with him at the back (with bottle of water and boiled sweets) and take him out immediately if he starts coughing 'too much'.

but I think you are being very kind as most parents dont seem to give a toss about their kids behaviour in the theatre ()

Any chance of re-selling the tickets?

I only ask because I cried off a ballet at the ROH in December due to the fact that I had the world's worst cough. Dh took dd and ROH re-sold my ticket.

He coughed all the way to the theatre, and said he felt too ill to go

So just ds1 and I went. But we enjoyed it immensely: fantastic production!
