London Plays - Hay Fever???

Me and my mum are going to London for a weekend in early March. Mum is really into deep and meaningful plays whereas they make me want to scratch my eyes out. On last years London trip we saw The Children's Hour which was about as far away from my cup of tea as you can possibly get. I thought the only way to ensure we see something light hearted is to do my own research. I need light-hearted, life is tough at the moment and I need escapism.
I saw this Noel Coward Hay Fever play is on and thought that might be good but need to offer mum some options. I don't think she's really into musicals, although I love them.
Any ideas?

You might find it a bit dated. Try looking at the Pitman Painters, had very good reviews or if you like Shakespeare, the Comedy of Errors at the NT is fantastic. However, it is far from deep and meaningful, just very very funny......

Just been out an heard mention of two guvnors on radio in car. Is comedy if errors Shakespeare? Do love normally. Is there a good website to see reviews?

You won't get a ticket for Two Guvnors for love nor money..... C of E is Shakespeare but very fast and furious....

Thank for those recommendations, just been on NT website and they both look fun. Will ask mum.

How about vintage whodunnit with The Mousetrap?

I would highly recommend Hay Fever at the Noel Coward Theatre. I saw it last week and it was brilliant. Some familiar faces in it including Lindsay Duncan and the young (rather dishy!) Freddie Fox. I have tried to find a review of it for you but there don't seem to be many around on the web, but you can find Hay Fever Tickets and one very glowing review of the show here.
I saw the Mousetrap recently, it is looking a bit tired I think...For a nice gift go for a brand new show - Hay Fever is so much fun - it gets my vote!!
