Hiya Binkie
Did you ever get to see the James Turrell installations at the YSP?
We went with a friend yesterday. However, couldn't really appreciate them fully as I had the dds with me and dd2 (who's 3) was totally freaked out by the two installations that were almost totally dark and just screamed to be taken out. (So there's me, trying to carry her to stop her screaming and pick my way out of a quite crowded pitch dark space... not really conducive to the quiet contemplation that the guide suggested, lol!) She coped better with the second installation (which was a sort of fluroescent purple-y space) although she didn't really like that either. I thought (in the brief time I was in there!) that it had a real sense of 'infinity' (sort of timelessness and spacelessness) about it. Dd1 (5) found that one quite atmospheric too, though she was a bit bored by the dark ones.
I am going to try to sneak an hour to go back on my own one day (preferably on a wet Tuesday afternoon when there'll be no-one around!)
Just thought I'd let you know I'd been. You were so passionate about Turrell before. Have you seen it yet?
