Sent query letter with positive response, so sent 3 chapters and synopsis of children's book (age 10+). Just had an email tonight - they want to see the rest of the ms!!!!!!!

I've never got this far before.
It'll probably come to nothing, but at least it means my 1st chapters and synopsis are passable.

Only problem is that while getting the synopsis into shape I had to completely replan the book, which means a total re-write right now.
I wonder how long it's reasonable to keep them waiting?

EXCELLENT! I'm a would-be writer, and am very impressed with this success of yours.

Best to email them back and ask for their timeframe (don't want to loose out if they think you've lost interest)

Yes, but I had a crappy synopsis and when I re-wrote that, I altered so much that now the book has to be altered.

I used some of the answers to the questions you asked me about the book in the query letter which hooked them, ggglimpopo, so I owe you a lot.
It's definitely good to talk.

I was going to look for a professional one myself if this hadn't worked.
I haven't seen any ggglimpopo, but there are places that will do an appraisal of your ms and may help with synopses too, for a price. (Cornerstones is one, writer's bureau, writer's workshop, etc).
I put mine together by looking at loads of sample synopses on the web (key word 'synopsis') and taking advice from those. I think the main thing is to practice loads.

Wow, that's exciting gglimpopo. You must feel like you're nearly there. Do you have to do re-writes now?

I'm getting there. It's a mamoth task, i must have been mad to think of sending it out as it was.
