Wouldn't bother me - why should it?

I might have a problem with the publisher of titles like "Keep Britain White" or "Margaret Thatcher: Why I Love Her"

Marina · 10/11/2005 12:20

OK. What else do they publish. If the other title in their Forthcoming List is Care of the Glans, then noooo. You don't want to end up in the wrong bit of The Bookseller's Forthcoming List, do you.
But if they do gazillions of non-sexual organ titles then that's OK, surely?
However, I think I can already hazard a guess at the answer to my question...

Marina · 10/11/2005 12:21

snort SD, quite. Is it "Prussian Blue" that consists of two little brainwashed American girls singing white supremacist hate ditties?

LadyTophamHatt · 10/11/2005 12:21

I never buy a book because if who published it (and what they did or didn't publish) so this wouldn't make a differnce to me.

does that make any sense?

spacedonkey · 10/11/2005 12:21

I have just made a spectacle of myself in the internet caff because of you marina

Marina · 10/11/2005 12:22

I aim to please SD. How's the job hunting going

spacedonkey · 10/11/2005 12:23

I knew there was something else I was supposed to be doing ....

Marina · 10/11/2005 12:25

LTH, fair point, but how a book is perceived and even stocked by bookselling behemoths like the Waterstones empire is crucial in getting books as far as shelves for punters to pick from. If gggl inadvertently gets signed up with a niche (or even Pouch of Douglas) publisher some places might just not bother stocking her.

LadyTophamHatt · 10/11/2005 12:28

God! you're all far to smart for me.
I honestly wouldn't have thought that that is what happens. Derrrrr!

Hmmmmmm, suppose it does depend on whether they publish all manner of vaginas then.

yes, its how the book is marketed that counts...maybe you had better make sure that you dont sign a contract that ties you in for more than one book? Could you get an opinion from a bookshop about how that publisher is regarded?

Or a librarian
There are publishers and then there are amateurs! Or perverts quite possibly
Alors gggl? Why not stick with Editions du Seuil...or are you going to tell me that Le Vagin: Mode d'Emploi is one of theirs?

bundle · 10/11/2005 12:43

I get quite a few books on vaginas sent to me
