Yes I loved the Judy Blume books too. Also Little Women - my Mum gave me her copy from when she was a child, I treasure it.

jolou1 · 02/11/2005 16:33

I loved the Armada ghost book series, I had all of them. I really loved spooky tales as a child. I had all the ladybird books...the proper ones from the late sixties with the beautiful old illustrations (eg Princess and the Pea & Rumpelstitskin) Still have them all and read them to DSs (3&4) who LOVE them. Especially the Three Little Pigs which is actually rather violent!

cupcakes · 02/11/2005 16:34

What Katy Did at School - I loved the secret drawer that went into the next bedroom.

There was a book that for the life of me I can't remember the title but at the time I loved - it was about a girl at boarding school who every night would switch places with an identical girl at the same school from 50 years previously. They used to leave each other notes in the bedstead.

cupcakes · 02/11/2005 16:35

Did any of you read the "Chalet School" books? They were my favourites for years - but quite old fashioned. Wouldn't mind re-reading them but my set got destroyed when my bedroom radiator sprung a leak.
