can you tell me what Donnie Darko is about. We got it on DVD have watched it 3 times and still can't get our heads around it.

Gosh a thread title with my name on that I didn't notice first time round!!
I think it's deliberately one of those films that can have any number of interpretations - you can view it as a tale of a mentally ill schizophrenic or you can start to think about time travel, parallel universes etc. Either way it's intentionally confusing I think - that's what makes a cult movie!

I do like films but wouldn't say I was any more of a film buff than the next person - I listed Donnie Darko as one of my top 5 films on another thread a while ago which I think caught Helsi's attention.

Loved Donnie Darko - what a £5 gem that turned out to be! To me, the fact that it could be interpreted in a number of ways was one of the great things about it.
