Vinted is designed to assist scammers, not protect users. I can’t believe how poorly Vinted handles fraud attempts. I recently reported a hacking incident, and instead of taking action to protect me, they blocked my account, the very victim of the fraud! It’s beyond belief that Vinted’s system is designed to assist fraudsters and scammers while leaving honest users even more exposed. Not only this, I had the same experience as a few in this thread had experienced. Bought an item that I believed was genuine and paid close to £100, only to find out the same seller had a second account and sold an exact item as I bought. This should be a new Saint Laurent belt without tags. The money been taken from my account and the next day when I saw the sellers second advert about the same product, I reported the seller for dual accounts as it’s not permitted. Instead I’m the one who was blocked and still are a week after, with very poor communication with the support, who’s btw is AI runner without any human interaction. Their reliance on low quality AI is shocking. The system can’t even distinguish between the person reporting the fraud and the actual scammer. Vinted’s response to fraud is to punish the victim, making their app a complete disaster for anyone trying to protect themselves. It’s an app designed to assist scammers. Thank god my bank have improved their service and protect against fraud. I’ve already spoken with them and they are aware of the situation. They are allowing Vinted a few more days to resolve the issue or the bank will step in with a chargeback. Whatever you do, stay far away unless you want to deal with a platform that helps scammers more than it helps its users.
