Homeless Person Account and Experience , coming into contact with rogue private landlord.

I have be reading past comments about homeless people and homelessness on this website. l would like to to share with you how l became homeless and rough sleeping now through no fault of mine and for clarity about the myth about homeless person and homelessness in the UK.

l was a victim of crime , coming into contact and dealing with a rogue private landlord , l became homeless without any warning suddenly from giving me an initial 14 day notice by this rogue private landlord changing his notice period over night .And he demanded l moved out of my house the next day by lunch time, he informed me verbally that he was now operating a hotel service accommodation just to inflict his wicked and inflated ego temper towards me. He gave me less than 3 hours on a cold snowy winter morning on a Sunday to move out, he threw my personal belongings outside on his back garden in the snow without my permission.

Why? he wanted me to pay £900 undisclosed and unsecured holding tenant deposit, he asked me to wired £900 into his private bank account within 30 mins having knocked on my door , without ever disclosing it with me, I suspect he must have received an unexpected bill a day before and he was about to scam me . When l moved in prior there was never a mention nor discuss about paying me paying him a tenant holding deposit at all, l just moved in few weeks prior., l saw him every single day for 2 weeks. I don't have £900 to hand over ready on demand , no way. My rent was not even £900 for a single room it was £370 was all l could afford back then.

l asked him for his registration membership and licence number and documents in reference to the govt tenant protection scheme as required by UK law he needs to secured my holding deposit ? my way of discouraging from scamming me otherwise as l did not trust him at all was my thought process here .

"In the UK , any private landlord who is not registered to secure their tenants holding deposit, is seen as an illegal act by a rogue private ". No tenant should agree to pay any private landlord an unsecured tenant holding deposit especially when a tenant is forced to wire money into a landlord's private bank account without the right documentation and process in place to secure a tenant's holding deposit. The money should be secured into a secured bank account through govt tenant protection scheme through a reliable third party company Or else, a tenant will never recover their holding deposit ever again, unless one files a local county court compensation serve it to the geo county court ,wait until the judge gives professional judgement in reference to your case in a court of law,

He told me he was not registered at all and if l did not pay the £900 he requested l wired into his private account he would ask me to leave his house. I told I refused to pay as he was not registered to protect what ever tenant holding deposit he was expecting me to pay him ,the amount of money he was asking me to wired into his bank account was a damn scam, "say l wired £900 into private bank account he would have spent the money that same day or week" which is a criminal offence.

l informed him that he never discussed me paying a tenant holding deposit to him when l viewed the single room in person not over the two weeks l had stayed in his house until that morning out of the blue he just made the entire thing up". Where does £900 come into this sordid antics other than me paying him £900 which l did not have to give him nor would l ever pay any private landlord this kind of money ever. He told me he did not care about the law, its his house he is the boss and he can do whatever he told me to do.

You all know the law that requires all UK private landlords must register with one of 3 govt tenants protection schemes and must protect each of their tenants holding deposit with any one of 3 govt tenants protection scheme , failure to do this ,they are in breach of the law. I told him he was a rogue private landlord and he was about to scam me , as a result of this incident l then confirmed to him verbally l was not going to pay him any money. He was pissed off, he kicked off, ranting etc he then illegally evicted me the night after his initial request next morning before 11am during a weekend whilst l was recovering from covid, l almost died and l became homeless. etc l don't drink alcohol , l don't smoke, l don't do any drugs what so ever . l don't drink tea or coffee , l drink bottled spring water. I am of Christian faith as l attend church twice a week to keep me sane and for spiritual guidance as well.

There are lots of men and women who are homeless due so many reasons i.e. illegal eviction, domestic violence, men get beat up by their female or male partners, rape, covid, cost of living, high rent zillions more reasons etc as well l being a victim of dealing with a rough private landlord.
