Child's father rape charge

I think I'm still in shock and needing to get this out..
Police called me today to inform me that my ex partner is being charged with rape agsinst me based upon a disclosure I made during an interview for an ongoing domestic abuse case.

At the time due to circumstances I was particularly vulnerable and wasn't sure until now what if any crime had been committed.
Any advice would be helpful, we have a child who I need to protect as I believe him to be dangerous.

He is trying to apply for contact in family court including overnight stays. What will happen with regards to that now? I feel he is doing this to torture me and not out of a genuine desire to have a relationship with his daughter.
