Identity theft

Last year I had my identity stolen. I know who the culprit is without question.

Since this started, I've checked all three of my credit reports regularly, and acted when searches have been added. It's always left me unsettled, but in recent weeks the applications have been relentless. We are talking about hundreds and hundreds of searches. It's like a game of whack a mole - as soon as I deal with one application, another goes through with the same company. It won't stop and I'm at the end of my tether.

Every conceivable thing has been applied for: loans, credit cards, current accounts, mobile and internet, TV, insurance, store credit, credit accounts, etc. Certain companies are impossible to deal with.

Everything but a couple of small things at the start has been unsuccessful, so I can't understand why they keep trying. But it's been going on for months.

I've added a notice of correction to each of the credit reference agencies, telling them to contact me directly if a search is made. This has only worked once.

I've reported to Crimestoppers to no avail.

Is there anything else I can do?

Report it directly to the Police! This is fraud.
