For various reasons, we feel we need to install some sort of light/motion/noise activated camera to monitor the front of the our house. We'd like something which costs very little (!) but is good enough quality to see what's going on.

Could you make any recommendations? I'd be v grateful.

Check out the ezviz range on Amazon, you should be able to pick one up between £40 and £60 they have audible siren on detection alert, you can also turn the strobe light on so it flashes every time it detects someone, which can all be done through the app, you can also set the alarm off yourself, and you can hear and talk through it, although if the winds are strong you won't hear anything apart from the wind noise.

It's a good camera does what it's meant to. You also need an SD card for it though.

Eufy

Another vote for eufy, easy to install, long battery life, works well and no paid subscription for the app.

Eufy looks great but way out of our budget! Ezviz is more like it Grin
