Feeling angry

Last week I had 90% of my hobby belongings stolen. In total it would cost around 4k to replace with new gear. I simply cannot afford to replace most of this.
The worst part of this is how angry I feel. Angry because I know which group of people did this and also angry because even the police do little to confront this particular group. Angry because this was something my dc enjoyed too and now this is ruined for them. How long does it take to stop feeling this way. The same thing happened to me in a different location about 18 years ago although I only had 4 items stolen back then. This time it was virtually everything I had years and years worth of stuff and it's just about all I can think about. No one was hurt and for that I am grateful but my god I want the thieves to pay for this.

what kind of stuff OP, Im so sorry to hear this, for you and your kids.

Horse equipment. The product of nearly 25 years of collecting stuff. They even took the worthless stuff too down to leaky wellies of my partner's.
Since writing the post we have spotted them on the cctv and weirdly that's made me feel a bit better simply because they are no longer invisible.

Equestrian equipment is not cheap OP, theft is a despicable crime 🌺

Email you MP. No action is disgusting if the police. Especially if you have cctv.

Any chance you could claim through your insurance?
Are these people known to the police. Have they identified them?

Chociefish · 13/09/2020 23:12

The police have looked at the cctv but they thieves are well covered up. Tack thieves are usually from the travelling community. They tend to close ranks and bleat persecution. There is usually very little the police can do and as a horse owner it is a fact of life that sooner or later your tack will get stolen. For me this is the second time.
