Hit and run

Evening everyone.
I hope you’re all staying safe and sane in these uncertain times.
I’ve been working from him since Wednesday due to the current Coronavirus pandemic, and today, at around 15:55 I heard a loud noise whilst sat in my study. I looked out my window as it sounded like a car had hit another car, and as my car is parked out that way, I wanted to check if it was mine that had been hit.
My car alarm wasn’t going off and I was due on a call at 1600 so didn’t think much else of it. My OH came in while I was peering out the window and asked what I was looking for, and I told him I thought someone had hit my car.
We took our dog out at around 1800 (third walk of the day before people think he’d been cooped up all day) and I decided to go check my car. Sure enough my wing mirror was scratched as hell. Fortunately they fold in when the car is locked so the mirror itself is fine, it’s the casing that Is scratched.
My question is what can I do? I have a dashcam but it didn’t detect it as an incident (annoyingly). I heard it from inside my house so the driver would have heard it/ felt it too.
Clearly it’s a hit and run as they didn’t stop or leave a note and if I go through my insurance, it goes against me as they have no one else to hold accountable.
I’m not too bothered about the damage, it’s more the principle of it all. In these times where we should be united and working together, people still continue to act selfishly.
Does anyone have any advice? (Other than to upgrade my dashcam which I’m looking to do ASAP!)

You have a scratched wing mirror that is still perfectly functional. You have no way to trace the person who did it. What answer do you want?

As for "in these times" CV19 does not entitle you to someone's insurance details any more than any other time. Don't be ridiculous.
