My car was stolen in broad daylight, I was at home with LO and my car was locked outside my house. I did not see anything as i only realised when i went outside and it wasnt there. I had a lot of LOs essentials in there as well a my own personal items.

Im so upset and have not been able to relax and sleep properly, im getting more anxious and scared because i feel like they know where i live. I know i need to come to terms with it and accept thst its happend but it has caused so much unnecessary stress to our lives.

How will i get to work? How will i get LO with no car seat or pram? Had to reorder thing but will not arrive till later on in the week. How will i afford a new car?
On top of all this im worried about our safety, am i safe in my home?

This is the most common ways that cars are stolen now, it's not unusual for them to go during the day and/or no-one to notice. Was it a keyless entry car? (You know, one where you just have a stop-start button?) They're very easy to steal especially if the keys are kept near the front door/near where the car is parked, that's one of the woes of modern technology, unfortunately. Or, were the keys stolen through the letter box?

Have you reported this to the police?
Have you reported it to your insurance company?
Once you've reported it to both of the above and you've got a claim in you can then liaise with the insurance company about the cost of a replacement vehicle if it isn't found - with comprehensive insurance your policy documents will tell you exactly what they will cover in terms of the cost of a replacement.

Most vehicle thieves aren't interested in anything else other than getting a particular vehicle for a specific purpose - especially if it was a new vehicle. If it was a new vehicle then it might have been stolen to order, in which case people literally just drive around looking to see where these cars are and then return to steal them, or they are stolen for parts. Once they have the car, they don't have any reason to return. However, when you report it to the police, they would have given you safety advice about keeping your doors and windows locked, keeping your keys away from any entry doors to your property and also reporting any suspicious activity around your area to them - you should heed all of this advice.

Insurance should arrange a replacement car meantime, have you spoken to them?

Thsnk you for your replies. Police and insurer notified. Still got keys so they broke in somehow.Insurer said i cannot have courtesy as that was extra that i did not opt for.
