letter to husband from police to call them with no specified reason?

they stated that they tried to call him. ( they did and he got the voicemail and tried to contact the PC but they had several with this name so he wasnt sure who to speak to and 101 said that this was not an emergency so they would contact him again)
So today the letter arrived it doesnt say anything like for example all that i can see on google allegations of people scratching others cars.

Does anyone know if this is normal?
do they often ask you to email them?

I once had a message to call a police officer in a totally different county. I worried about it all night and got myself in a real state as I couldn't think of any reason the police would want to talk to me. It turned out they were contacting anyone with my name (I think it was my maiden name) as part of a search for a missing person. Nothing to do with me at all. I still wonder what the whole story was and if they found the person they were seeking.

Hi Bay thank you so much for this. it is just the most bizzarre thing to have happened. I bet you were wondering for years afterwards.

I will bare in mind it may have nothing to do with us in the end.
