First or third person?

Have FINALLYYYYYYYYYYYY gotten an idea for a novel and it's one that really excites me.

Now - as is always the question for me...

first or third person...

am looking for opinions in general on what you prefer to read and how you prefer to write, is it better to have all the inside thoughts/feelings of a first-person narrator? Or would you prefer to know how everyone else feels about him too?

decisions decisions...

Third person is my preference.

Multiple third person is easier - that way you can see the story from lots of different angles.
That said, I sometimes use a slippery mixture of third and first.
In my current WIP the MC is in first, but the subsiduary characters are in third.
Have a play and see what you fancy.

Try a bit of both. The effects are different and you will find the plot unwinding in slightly different ways, depending on who is telling the story. I like having an unreliable narrator, although it doesn't work for everything!
