Confused intended audience

The story I am currently writing has a bit of a confusing target audience.
The main characters are teenagers (around the age of 15) meaning the target audience would normally be around the same age. However the story is much too violent/nasty for teens to read.

Would adults relate to a story about teens? would they want to read about a couple of nutty teens? Would YOU?

Bumping for you.

Well, first of all, teens like violent/nasty, but sure, there are plenty of books with younger characters that adults read - that autism story, the Curious Tale of the Dog in the Night was one. Oh, or Black Swan Green. Or ... there was a gross one with early teenagers I was reading a little while back, but it got too gross for me ...

Every adult was once a teenager, so why not?
