Hello. I’ve just finished going through my 97000 women’s fiction novel for what seems like the 100th time. I have no illusions that it’s a best seller, but I would like a few paperback copies for family and friends and then to publish it online.

Can I just go for it using KDP or would anyone recommend using an editor, or one of the many companies that offer literary packages (edit etc, then they do the publishing for you on a couple of platforms for about £500).

All advice welcomed - thank you.

If you’re not bothered about selling loads of copies, then publish it yourself on KDP . It’s easy enough but you do need a decent cover and it helps to have someone else read through for the typos you always miss! KDP is good but you do need to follow their rules. And it’s free!

Are you sure you don’t want to go down the traditional route and look for an agent?

That would be great but I know how difficult it is to be taken on by an agent; I wouldn’t know where to begin.
