How the human body perfectly moulds to your baby when breastfeeding them.

their head rests in your elbow crook
they sit on your thigh
their spare arm threads under yours,

it’s just the perfect seat 💕

just a thought.

I suppose it’s a poem of sorts?

EmpressaurusKitty · 07/04/2026 08:57

It reminds me of a haiku but isn’t one.

Didn’t know where else to put it tbh. Sorry topic police

Also just to add, I couldn’t find a breastfeeding topic which what I was initially looking for and is odd to not have one on a Mumsnet site.

You didn’t considering Parenting or Chat?

tiredmummasita · 07/04/2026 18:29

It’s really not a big deal. But no I didnt

You could argue that everything comes under ‘parenting’ & ‘chat’ seeing as everyone is a parent and is chatting

I don't know, I felt this was quite appropriate, although being on a parenting forum, one could argue it might fit almost anywhere, and most of us would appreciate it!

I am not a mum, and had not considered the imagery in the OP myself. I feel that it belongs here especially because it illustrates something quite 'everyday' yet beautifully profound, that also provided me with knowledge that I didn't already posses.

And even though the realisation may seem 'obvious' to a parent, it will remain ever-new to those who first experience it, and in that sense it is constantly evolving.

And now I do posses that knowledge. And as the images take shape in my own mind, I can feel/appreciate this level of intimacy, the multilayered sensations that make up the whole, the concept and the realisation.
