Beta readers for non-fiction

Hi everyone
I am coming to the end of my non-fiction book about relationship red flags - taken me 4 years! I have a professional editor but now it is crunch time (self-publishing soon) I would love to find a couple of beta readers. Many of my lovely friends who would normally read are caught up in their own lives and don't have time to read 21 chapters at the moment! I have had about three people dip in and out and read excerpts.

I am a professional writer and editor in my day job so I need readers less for the writing/phrasing and more for the content. I have uploaded to Beta io but nothing yet. I am not in a writing group but have attended writing retreats and have a fantastic circle from there—I could reach out to them but they are creative fiction folk and playwrights.

Any suggestions where I can find willing readers with time and interest in the subject? What have you all done? TIA

I'd read it. I'm a huge reader and always interested to read more

I'm happy to!

I read on average 2 books a week, 1 fiction (mostly thriller/crime) & 1 non fiction (mostly self help/development) a few memoirs too!

Also happy to help! Just finished a book yesterday and have yet to pick my next one

I might be able to read one chapter if that's helpful. Probably don't have time to read the whole thing.

I could tell by the first sentence that you would be self publishing this and lo and behold I was right.

Wow thanks everyone ! Just seeing these 😍
I will PM those who expressed interest: I don’t want to waste anyone’s time but would love ”cold” readers who are interested in the topic 🎉

Beta Readers Wanted – Nonfiction / Emotional Transformation / Limiting Beliefs
Hi there. I’m looking for a few thoughtful readers who connect with emotional growth, personal development, or inner story work. I’ve written a nonfiction book about limiting beliefs—where they come from, how they shape us, and how to rewrite the stories that keep us stuck.
It’s not fully edited yet, so this is a unedited manuscript. I’m looking for honest, constructive feedback around emotional resonance, clarity, flow, and whether it feels helpful and readable throughout.
The book’s tone is grounded, compassionate, and direct. It’s structured around storytelling, reflection, and practical tools for change. Chapters walk through belief formation, emotional integration, and real-life examples of inner transformation.
If you’ve ever been interested in subconscious patterns, responsibility without shame, or rewriting the story you’ve been living by—I’d love to share the manuscript and hear your thoughts.
Let me know if you’re interested and I’ll send along the first few chapters or full draft. The full book is 155 pages long and about 25,000 words. Thank you for considering!
