Anyone done this, or know anything about it?

Hi @Peasnbeans I took part in it, but I have to say it was very underwhelming! Did you do it?

I did it too and feel the same, but when there's a handful of agents with hundreds of pitches they have to review, I think that's always going to be the way. But it's frustrating as you don't know whether you weren't seen, or the pitch wasn't strong enough.

One that did get a comment was about 200 words long! Which I guess reflects reality but annoyed me as I spent ages whittling mine down to 100 :)

Do you think the salon part of the sub is worthwhile? Mine is up for renewal in May and I may just opt for the magazine next time. The forumish bit is dead really.

I felt annoyed too! I followed it exactly - book title, elevator pitch in the byline, 100 word pitch. So annoyed to see people basically putting the full synopsis, comp titles etc. I noticed that a lot of the ones that received agent comments had put their competition wins etc in the title as well.

Did you get many comments? I didn't get anything from agents but got quite a lot of likes and comments from members, people saying they would love to read my book, so that was nice at least.

I've found the Salon membership to be a complete waste of time. I wanted it for the Agent "Extravaganza" (it was anything but!) and there is no life on the forums. I wish I hadn't bothered and won't be renewing.

I got a handful of comments across two pitches (YA and gen fic) which was nice but overall it felt like a waste of time.

I can't see how to say I want to stop the Salon subscription in my options but I'll have a dig around.

Regular non-agent comments I mean! It just didn't feel like a hubbub of activity and if the word count can't be enforced they should say it's an approximation. I spent quite a while getting mine from 102 to 100 words at one point!
