I don’t want to do a course - does anyone know of any meets where people just get together and write?!

I benefit from a bit of body doubling!

I live in London. I’d like to meet other writers in a place and we all sit and individually write. Is this a thing?!

They are called Writers Circles where I am, and often meet in libraries

Yep join a writing circle, I'm the assistant secretary of ours and we have about 77 members, but not based in London.

That used to be groups on meet up for this

I know of an informal writers 'group' who all met doing a creative writing short course (not London) . They decided to continue and meet up regularly for exchanging ideas/workshopping themes etc.
Nothing formal but they are all motivated fiction writers and keen to hone their craft so they meet consistently even if it's just every couple of months and work on their writing alongside their FT jobs.

Any recommendations for sites where to share your (incomplete) work?

I've written the first draft of a novel but in a bit of a rut and struggle to make progress with the second draft. Getting some feedback might provide the necessary motivation to push through.
