Writing accountability thread

Hi everyone,

I started a support thread a couple of weeks ago, for those of us who are waiting on agents. I submitted my children's picture book to just over thirty agents, five weeks ago and have received about eight rejections so far. So, to keep myself busy, I have started writing my new MG fiction book. I started on Tuesday, and so far have written a bit each day. I have also started making a list of the agents I am going to send it to when it's finished. The trouble is I am already having a bit of a wobble, thinking this one might be rejected/not make it, and it's making me feel like writing anymore is pointless.

So, I thought I'd start this thread for accountability purposes? For those of us who need a space to vent, say what they're finding difficult, and how much they've managed to write each day. There's no pressure to join, but it would be lovely to see this space used for support for one another etc.

The more the merrier :)

Can I join please? In a very different boat but working on my creative assignment for my MA Creative Writing and could do with some morale boosting/discussion. So exciting that you’re querying! What is it about your new idea that you’re unsure of?

Welcome :)

How are you getting on today? My motivation levels are very low. I think I have been rejected that many times in the past, I think whatever I write now will also be rejected! I haven't written anything today (unless you count this post).

@Showmethefood ah I know the feeling. Keep at it, though it’s hard this time of year - everything gets so busy! I’ve booked in a 1:1 with my lecturer to discuss my draft as I have no idea where to go now but I know it still needs a good edit.
