Not getting on with scrivener

Hi was wondering about other people’s experiences.
I bought scrivener a couple of years ago after reading lots of glowing reviews and hearing it mentioned in podcasts etc. however I am not enjoying it at all. In fact I think it may have stopped me really writing much at all!
its not the technology side of it, I think I’ve got the hang of how it basically works etc. it’s just I find it a bit uninspiring. Does anyone else find this? Or am I missing something?
I used to write everything longhand and then type up on word - was way more productive but am I going backwards if I do that?
any experiences/advice please!

I can’t get on with any apps. It makes me procrastinate and not actually write.
Im better with a word document or a notebook (or both)
Keeping it simple for me is far better.

Thank you that’s helpful. Yes I keep reading about how amazing it is but I just end up getting distracted and also can’t really get a sense of my progress etc!

I tried using it because I write dual timeline and it was easier to see where each chapter was, but recently I've been using the navigation pane in word and it's working really well.

If you like to write longhand then perhaps a kindle scribe or Remarkable would work for you? You can convert your handwriting to text and email it to yourself.

I really like it but wish it had a few more features. What are you struggling with?

I use that as my primary tool then a remarkable to make editing comments and notes.

I agree. I spent too much time fiddling around with it.
What I want to do is type on typewriter, then use ocr to put on word, in order to edit.
Surely it's possible, but I just can't manage it.
