Just finished my manuscript…

Sent queries out to about 20 agents.

The next day I got 2 requests for the full manuscript and then nothing now for 4 days.

Also 36 weeks pregnant so hormonal and driving myself crazy…

Anyone else at the querying stage and going insane?

Congratulations on the 2 full requests straight away! Four days of silence is nothing to worry about...I used to get weeks of radio silence.

I started querying in December and I feel your pain. Three full requests (2 of those were rejected and I'm still waiting on the third nearly 3 months later...)

I was too impatient to send out in small batches after that so I have about 20 queries out in the world. A couple of agents have responded quickly with a form rejection but it's the ones that say nothing that are the worst.

I'm getting better at putting it out of my head - I've started writing something new as well. Hopefully when you have the new arrival to keep you busy you'll be able to forget about the querying. Good luck with both though!!

It almost feels worse getting the requests for the full doesn’t it?

And yeah the silence is awful.

Nobody really talks about how soul destroying this process is but I’m going to join you and start something new to take my mind off it - oh and have another baby!

Good luck with the ones that are still out and your next batch. From what I hear 20 queries isn’t that much so you might have better luck with your next round x

I read a very wise quote recently that querying takes something you love and have enjoyed and turns it into the complete opposite! Such a stressful process.
