Manuscript request - help with formatting?

Hello, I started sending my novel to prizes and agents a couple of months ago and have unexpectedly received my first full manuscript request.

At the moment the entire manuscript is lying in Scrivener and I've had real issues with formatting in the past. Can anyone help or steer me toward clear advice on how to do it?

Find someone on Reedsy.

I do it in word. I don't know how easy it is to format in Scrivener.

I think the standard formatting is:
Easy to read font (like Times New Roman)
12 pt
Double spaced lines
Normal margins.

I'm sure others can tell you more.

Posted in haste last night as I am rubbish at texting!

Google "reedsy manuscript format" and there are useful links, instructional videos and tools.

Or Google "Reedsy Marketplace" to find someone to do it for you.

Or, this is one of many useful links

When I used Scrivener I exported the file to word and then just spent an hour formatting it as a previous poster has recommended, Times New Roman font in 12pt, double spaced and normal margins.

And good luck with the submission!

Hello all. Despite the help of a YouTube tutorial I wasn't able to figure it out immediately and have to send by tomorrow.

So - I went through the pain of copying and pasting to word instead. Thankfully I'm now at the end of the process and have followed the guidelines. @Alcemeg thanks for mentioning Reedsy - I'd never heard of it before and it looks like a great resource.

@Lucia23 I think formatting is much easier in Word, but then I use it every day with work. I mentioned Reedsy because you can find help for anything there, if you're not confident with layout or any other aspect of what needs to be done. As you say, the site is an excellent all-round resource.

Good luck with your submission!
