Using "Medium" as a writing platform

I'm not sure if I am posting in the right section as I only write non- fiction. Has anyone used "medium" as a way of getting their work "published" online? Any experiences? Or any other suggestions how I can get my work out there?

I generally write short, easy-to-read articles about lesser known events from history.

I've never used medium but if you want to get your work out there Spillwords is an option., they publish most subs but add a nice picture, have a big audience. Are you a member of duotrope? They are good for finding markets for your work
