I'm smarting from my latest rejection, after a full MS request. I have posted the traditional moan on the Waiting on Agents Thread and I'm now looking for practical ways to move forward!
The agent liked my pitch and writing, but wasn't quite convinced. She said I could develop the characters and their emotional journey, but that was as far as the feedback went.
My novel is contemporary YA. The characters' journeys are (I thought) emotionally charged, but I obviously haven't managed to convey the inner experience of the events they encounter.
Does anyone have any tips for how I could address this issue?
