Mslexia - cancelling Amanda Craig

Posting on here just in case people aren't aware.

Mslexia magazine have removed Amanda Craig as a judge for one of their fiction competitions, in response to a complaint made by one of the other judges. The complaint relates to Amanda Craig signing a letter standing up to the misogynistic online abuse directed towards JK Rowling.

I have cancelled my subscription. I am in disbelief that a women's writing magazine can honestly believe that there is something wrong with standing up for women (regardless of their beliefs) against misogynistic abuse.

They did the same to Lionel Shriver a couple of years back when she wrote an article criticising the publishing world.

It's completely nuts - Amanda Craig was standing with people who oppose women writers being bullied; Mslexia "aims to foster a welcoming and inclusive environment that encourages women to express themselves... in the knowledge that they will always be treated with respect". Confused
