FutureLearn Start Writing Fiction - Free course from The Open University

Is anyone else currently doing this? I started last week, really enjoying it. It has lots of ideas and techniques to help with writing fiction. It is a free course to participate in, the quality is really good.

I thought I’d give it a go, as it didn’t cost me anything. But it’s given me some really good tips on how to develop my characters and how to start writing my scenes.

Yes I’m currently on week 5 and really enjoying it. As well as learning I find it useful for feedback/ discussion with a group and the responsibility of completing the course is keeping me writing when I’m a procrastinator by nature.
Will really miss it when it’s finished so am keeping my eyes peeled for one that will help me develop further when this one is done.

I’ve just started week 5, it’s interesting looking at flat and round characters, stereotypes and how to make your characters real people. Really enjoying it as it’s making me examine certain elements I’d not considered before.

I’m definitely interested in taking it further when the course ends.
