Celeb judges and writing comps

Evening all. Just wondering if anybody knows anything about the above. Do celeb judges sift through all comp entries or do they have people to choose some they might like?!

IME, at the very least they'll be presented with a long list with any entries removed which don't fit the qualifying criteria, plus any removed that stand out as being particularly weak. Depending on their availability and the time commitment needed to work through the materials, and the setup of the competition itself, the pile might be narrowed much further to produce a shortlist for review. I've known a panel of judges to ask for extras when they felt the shortlist was too restricted.
