Online scrapbooking

Hi,
My mum is thinking of writing an autobiography of her life for us children to have. However, she would like to do it as a scrapbook online. It would be more than a Slideshare or a photo book with captions. She would write stories and share photos and newspaper clippings etc etc. Then store it online and maybe print it off. Has anyone done anything similar? A sort of online autobiography scrapbook?

I've not seen any particularly good app or online product that takes intermittent multimedia scraps. I think this would be do-able offline by taking the individual pieces of content if static into MS Word or PowerPoint or similar and using an online book or photo album-printing service when finished.

If you wanted to help her, she could send each piece to you so they are not lost should the worst happen to one of you (sorry to sound dramatic).

Including active/dynamic content (audio, video, animation and such like) would probably require some form of story/presentation application for a tablet/phone device or video editing for youtube?
