Creative Writing Homework Help

Hi,
I recently joined my local village group and I have been set homework, I have been given 3 titles
• In the Forest
• The Meeting
• Animal Magic
What I'm asking is for people to throw some ideas to me, I want to do well but I don't have the best imagination.
Thanks

Ooooo the meeting one is great! I'd be doing it in an NA or AA meeting. It could be almost anything though, work/interview meeting, bank, doctor (test results of some description). How many words needed?

WeMarchOn · 06/01/2019 23:05

Between 500 and 750

The Meeting could be a blind date. It could be someone going for an interview and the interviewer is someone they know but weren't expecting to see. It could be a meeting between a Samaritan and a client.

Hmmm ... Grin

Writing is, slightly, about the effort you put in yourself. Striving to come up with ideas of your own will help to develop your imagination.

Take 3 big sheets of paper. One for each topic. Try setting down the first half dozen scenarios that come to you for each. Then ask yourself whether they seem mostly factual/workaday/mundane or fantastical and outlandish. Try another half dozen concentrating on the aspect you seem to prefer.

Do you have to produce something for all three subjects or just one?

Doesn't have to be a meeting of people - what about a landscape description of a place you like where, for example, the river meets the sea or trees meet a stream? 'Creative' doesn't mean 'only made up' or 'imaginary'.

The forest - again, there are forests of buildings, hair, loads of stuff.

If you start with one idea, all you have to do is develop that.
