What software do you write on?

I am wondering if it's worth investing in Microsoft word. I am plotting my novel and using cheaper software.

I use word.
I'm happy with it, but I think there's others that are better for novel writing. Scrivener I think is one people recommend.

Scrivener. It's probably cheaper than MS word and is great (though not very intuitive to use). That said, many agents (if you are going that route) want submissions on Word docs. Most can cope with a PDF but not all.
