I'm writing a book (very, very slowly). I would really appreciate hearing from anyone in a same-sex relationship specifically where you'd started out as friends. Even more specifically, what incident/event changed that situation.
I'm writing a male-male scene and have the rough outline but I'd find it really helpful to have some real-life scenarios to draw some comparisons with.

If it helps, the particular scene I'm writing takes place in the early 2000s.

As you've had no replies, and I don't envisage you getting any, may I suggest you go onto the fanfiction archive Archiveofourown.org? Friends To Lovers is a tag you can use to filter works, and it's a very well populated category.

Seeing how other writers have handled it (particularly writers who were trying to build a believable shift in the relationship between characters who were only friends canonically) may help you.

Thanks Jamie - I think I shot myself in the foot a bit here as in my story it's a same-sex relationship, but of course, real-life experiences don't have to be; the principle is the same. I'll take a look at your suggested link. Much appreciated.
