How do you choose a title?

I've realised that my biggest stumbling block is choosing a good title. I submitted a story to a magazine I'd love to get published in and the editor wrote back saying it had potential but to choose a 'much better' title. How do you choose a good title?

I'm not really sure. I sometimes feel like a title sort of 'finds' you. Sorry, I know that's not the most useful advice! It'll come to you if you know the story inside out.

I wrote down lots of possibilities. When I'd done that, one stuck out to me.

What is the overall theme of your story? Scribble down the theme then underneath, write a list of titles based around the theme - don't think about it too much. Smile

I look at the last fifth of what I've written and sometimes I find the title there. Or in the lady paragraph. I know it sounds weird, but it works!

🤣🤣🤣 LAST PARAGRAPH! 🤣🤣🤣 Not lady...
