Written a script - what to do next?

I have no clue if anyone on here can help, but I've recently just finished a script for a film that I have been working on for around 14 months. I'm really not a pro in this industry at all. I've never done anything to do with writing, production, etc. (I'm actually doing Science!) but it came from an idea that I spent a while developing and I'm really pleased with it. It's a thriller, I suppose?

Is it worth paying £200 to get it completely assessed by a script person who goes over it all and writes feedback and tells you what to do next or what? I know scripts never normally lead to anything, but yeah.

Thanks.

Hi Lilac. Massive congratulations on finishing your script. It's completely up to you whether to have someone read it for you bit be very careful who you choose. There are a lot of people who have no industry experience setting themselves up as professionals. I can recommend a few people if you decide to go down this path.
Once you are ready with the script you could send it to the script competitions that many film festivals run. You could also send it to agents to see if they will take you on as a client. Also check out the BBC Writersroom. They accept feature length scripts when looking for new writers during their drama room open submissions. You could also send the script to film companies if they are accepting unsolicited scripts. There's an independent currently reading unsolicited scripts at the moment. Can't remember the name but I will try to find out for you.

Hi Lilac, congratulations on finishing your script! My husband got excellent feedback from a company called Industrial Scripts and has just had his script put through their talent connector to the industry! He used the Film Script Report service which was £135.00 and couldnt be happier so far. Good luck !

Hi OP.
So nice this is your first script I would definitely get some peer reviews on it before you spend hard cash on a editorial report.

There are quite a few excellent face book groups where members offer peer reviews and honest feedback.

I would recommend Bangtowrite. It's a closed group with a lot of very knowledgeable and generous writers.

If you get positive feedback you can decide what to do next ( with advice from members).
