Writing under a pseudonym - how?

Just that really. My first book is nearing ready.
As it draws so heavily on autobiographical material I'd like to submit / self publish under another name.

Any advice pls?

It's really easy - just submit your work to the agents / publishers you'd like to work with, and if your book is picked up, you can specify that you'd like to use a pen name. Assuming you're not famous under your real name (so they'd be relying on your name to generate interest) they won't mind at all.

If you're self-publishing, you put your own name into the cover artwork and listing details where the author's name goes, but use your real name for your account details.

Don't worry, it's a very old tradition and the industry is well set up for it!

Oh, thanks, Outrageous (what do freesias taste like? :)

So if s-p then pseu on jacket and all public material but real name on isbn listing etc (presumably public dont get to see that bit?)

really important to me that I cannot be linked with the book.

i wrote (most of it) during NaNo and was hoping to submit for the Kindle Scout deadline on 20th Feb (but may miss that as need jacket design which presumably would have the pseudonym name on etc)

they want an author bio and photo too.
any way around that?
