Hi, I'm completely new to this group and writing and would really appreciate some help/advice please. I'm trying to write a book about my life, not that I've done anything amazing its just about the trials and tribulations of upping sticks with 2 kids and moving overseas. I''ve also got some pieces along the same lines which may be suitable for magazines. does anyone know how if i can contact them direct or would i need to find an agent. Thank you x

Hi AphroditeGlitterQueen You've had 2 kids, so you've done something awesome and amazing! Flowers And you upped sticks and moved overseas. Most magazines post their submission guidelines within the magazine itself and on their websites - most also request that you not submit the piece you are submitting to them to any other magazine, sometimes for a defined period. You could buy a couple of magazine you yourself enjoy, paying close attention to the kind or articles they print, and the writing style of the authors, and that will give you something to base your own submission on, when you feel ready. You don't need an agent or editor to submit to magazines. I'm not going to wish you luck, because writing can be hard work, so I shall wish you success Wine Brew Cake
