Just been on Amazon to order the Writers and Artist Yearbook2018 and came across the Writers Handbook, has anyone used it, is it more for the US market?

The Writers' Handbook is good too, but you can probably get all the information it contains online now.

Have you actually ordered the Yearbook? I think everything is online.

PS: Both handbooks are compiled by contacting every company listed as a publisher, asking them to fill in a form, and including all responses. There are no checks on the information supplied, there are several exploitative vanity presses included, and inclusion in those handbooks is no indication that a publisher will publish anything well. Just be careful.

Every agent and publisher has an online presence - there's no need for the Yearbook if you're writing novels. It might be useful if you want to write stories for magazines.

Thanks for the replies, really wanted a hard copy to look through as we are in the Pacific for the foreseeable future and the wifi is very intermittent some islands do not even have wifi yet! Even my mobile doesn't work, haven't been able to use in since Panama in March!
