Erotic fiction

I've started writing a few things and a bit of poetry, but the story I've written most of is very erotic. Sex scenes are really the bones of it. It's written from a female perspective and explores her spiritual connection with sex, (I know that makes it sound naff) whilst being very explicit. I was thinking of trying it on amazon as a kind of serial and continuing it if it proved popular.
The only thing is I'm worried about my real identity being found out (allowing myself to imagine it will be very popular!) I fear I could lose my job.
Has anyone done something like this with a cast iron pen name? What are the legalities of writing porn conflicting with a day job?

IANAL and I have no experience in this genre but I can't imagine that writing porn is illegal as long as it is made clear that the content is for adults alone. If you have a non de plume and don't engage in social media/marketing etc using your real name, I doubt very much that you would be 'outed'. You haven't said what your job is but again, if you want to write erotic fiction in your own time, not sure what that has to do with your employer unless it is a profession in which you deal with the public e.g healthcare and you worry that it might affect your standing at work. Even in that case, as long as you don't use your real name it should be ok. If you are ridiculously successful-you'd be handing in your notice anyway, right?

You will need to tell Amazon your real identity and use the same KDP account for all your pen names because you are not allowed to have multiple accounts and obviously they have to know your real life bank details so they can pay you. But they don't tell anyone else - readers won't know it's the same person.

Yes I am in a job that deals with the public in a professional sense which is what's making me a bit
