How long does a YA fiction have to be?

I've been writing a fiction book for a while, it's definitely aimed at children, but I'm worried it's too long? (and I'm worried the chapters are too long also?)

It's for around 10 year olds I say, (is that called 8-12?) I've only ever tried to write adult fiction before so this is a really unknown area for me but I love what I'm writing and am finding it much more exciting and 'can't wait to get writing' than anything I've ever tried before.

And I like to think I'm usually far more articulate than that post shows! (Three glasses of wine Blush)

8-12 is also called middle grade, though in real life 10yos do read YA.
YA would normally be 60-80k, can be longer in some genres like fantasy or historical where there is a lot of world building.
If you're aiming at actual 8-12 I would think nearer 40-60.
